Saints of the Year

I "drew" saints for 2012 with the random saint generator. I just clicked "Get a Saint" and then prayed a few short prayers and then clicked "Show me my saint."

This year, Mary got St. Catherine of Bologna (patron of artists), Joe got St. Gerard (yesssssss), I got St. Isador the Farmer, and Drew got St. George.

I think Catherine of Bologna is invoked against the death of parents and Isador against the death of children.

Good Lord, I hope the Mayans weren't on to something. :)

If you do this on this page, please post which saints you get in the comments box. I'm always interested to hear the stories.

I drew St. Martin de Porres, who had an amazing life and is patron Saint of interracial harmony. I wish I had been more diligent in prayers this year, but given how amazing the Saints are, I have no doubt he still interceded. He also seems to be an unofficial Saint for marital issues (he helped his sisters with their marriage problem), and since this was our first year of marriage, he seemed like a perfect fit. :)

I just got St. Ulric for 2012, and I don't know why.

Had to look him up. Very cool.

TCIE, Ahhh I LOVE I of A - he's one of my favorites. I own this book and love it.
