Aunt Jannie's visit

Aunt Jannie recently came up to Chicago for a few days for a convention and boy howdy did Mary have fun.

First, Mary got to stay one night with Aunt Jannie in the Marriott on Rush Street, in the heart of the Viagra Triangle.
She had an amazing view of the city and a cool TV according to her accounts, and she got to swim in the pool! They ate goldfish crackers in bed and had a great time.

One of Aunt Jannie's functions was a private affair at the Shedd Aquarium after closing time. Mary had been to Shedd, but never for anything private so she was always fighting the field trippers and Iowans to see the fish. With this thing, there were no crowds, so she got to see all kinds of cool stuff! She still talks about how the belugas sound.

Then Aunt Jannie came to stay with us for a few days and took Mary to get hot dogs for lunch and other fun stuff. They also went shopping and Mary got a PRINCESS comforter (she calls it a 'comfortable') and polka dot sheets and a purple night table and a pink lamp! Her stuff is so cute and she loves loves loves going to bed now.
Her room looks so adorably girly now.
I am going to take pics of her in bed tonight.

Aunt Jannie actually talked Mary into going #2 on the potty, too! She hasn't done it since that time, but we now know she CAN do it. I know she'll start doing it soon. She knows she can't go to kindergarten unless she does and the kindergarten kids have cool playgrounds and stuff so she really wants to go to school!

We wish Aunt Jannie (and all our aunts/uncles) lived closer to us, or vice versa.
It is so much fun to have them around, even though it causes Mary to completely ignore her parents for the duration.
