This is a fantastic video taken from the front of a SFO cable car in 1904. This is Market Street. The earthquake two years later would largely destroy this area.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the car full (and I do mean full) of men who keep u-turning to play chicken with the cable car, and I love the newsboy who keeps running in front of the camera. Kids never change.
An amazing glimpse into a different time...
